In December of 2007, Niyati and I went to the Andamman Islands, off the east coast of India, actually closer to Thailand than India. We stayed in a very eco-friendly resort on a fantastic beach. No pool, no beach umbrellas, no vendors. Just 2km of sand and ocean, mostly to ourselves. But the main attraction in the Andammans is the excellent scuba diving, much of it undiscovered. Not being certified, I could only do "discovery" dives up to 12 meters, but it was still fanstastic and I obviously only saw a fraction of what there was to see. Would be great to go back being certified and the option of exploring the many other dive sites and islands that exist.
