We arrived in Argentina by bus and headed directly to our Estancia, a sheep farm or estate where we would stay for 3 days. It was a fantastic place in a great setting, without the steppe all around, mountains in the distance, horses and sheep. The entire landscape looked like Wyoming. This is a working farm, but now most of the money comes from tourist dollars. We made very good friends with the dog Lucky, who would never leave our side, and went with us on our early morning and sunset walks. The next day we went to visit the Perito Moreno glacier, which isn't the largest glacier around, but is famous because of how close you can get to it on land. It calves often, though we weren't fortunate to see any big explosions - just small rumblings. We saw the glacier by foot and also got close by boat. Its impossible to tell, even when you are there, but the glacier wall is actually 200 feet tall. Watch a video showing 1/2 the length of the entire glacier.
