In December of 1992, my family made a trip to Egypt for 10 days. We did the standard trip, visiting Cairo and the pyramids, Luxor, and took a cruise down the Nile for 6 days. It was the coldest winter they had had in Egypt in 42 years, so we were unprepared. But everyday was sunny, and what we saw was unbelievable. I would say that the pyramids were slightly disappointing, only in that they were right off the side of the road, and so much was built up around it. I had a vision of them being out in the middle of nowhere, but in reality they were not. Incredibly impressive nonetheless.

We spent New Year's eve on the boat at a costume party. I was dressed up like a belly dancer, but mysteriously, those photographs have disappeared.
