I've made 2 trips to Nagarahole National Park, both times to the Kabini River area. The first visit was in May of 2007 and proved to be incredible for elephant sightings both in the forest and in the backwaters. Driving through the open grounds as the sun was going down amongst the elephants was amazing. My second trip was in May of 2009. I had come in an all out attempt to see a leopard and a bear, and hopefully some great elephant sightings as well. There were far fewer elephants to be seen this time. I finally got a quick glimpse of a leopard on my 7th out of 8 drives. I also saw a tiger by boat, a crested serpent eagle in the water, and some good sightings of mongoose. No bear :(
